Camp Update 4 – Remembering an Amazing Summer, Enjoying God’s Presence, and Looking Forward to What He Has Planned! – By: Brad Wight

ZipLines, Swings, Obstacle Courses, Sheep, Slip’n’Slides, Water Balloons, and more. These last two weeks of DayCamp have been so exciting, and such a blessing to have all of these students come and be a part. God has shown Himself and touched lives in such amazing ways throughout DayCamps and the whole summer. We have had so many fears conquered, from heights, to water, to trust in other people, to trust in yourself, and to trust in God. God brought 15 more students to Himself this last week. What an amazing God we serve. He knew just who needed to be here at camp this summer and what stories they needed to hear as well as what situations they needed to experience to learn about and draw nearer to Him.

As we wind down camp for the summer and begin to prepare for more retreats and field trips moving into the fall, I am reminded of all the lives changed this summer. With 22 lives committed to Him during Residential Camps and 28 during DayCamps, and countless more lives changed by the camp experience this summer either directly or as a result of someone else’s direct experiences, I can’t help but lift up praises to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I want to say thank you to everybody who was a part of making this summer possible. So many people are involved, and this summer wouldn’t have happened if it hadn’t been for each and every person who volunteered as a counselor, program staff, kitchen staff, and nurses and their families for the support that they offered. Many of our full time staff this summer were new, but they were always going above and beyond and impressing us with their willingness and drive to work for God and for these students. I’d also like to say a thank you to all the students who came this summer and their parents and families who supported them throughout this experience, everybody who donated their time and/or money to help us be ready for summer, sponsor students, and support staff, and finally I’d like to thank our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for planting Pathfinders and helping us continue to grow throughout the years. Thank you so much! Words cannot describe how grateful I am to everybody who makes Pathfinders a possibility!
